‘Border Is More Secure’ Under Trump, But There’s Risk of Going Too Far, Cutting Off Legal Immigration

On News Nation's “Hill” aired Tuesday, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) said under President Donald Trump that “borders are safer,” but there is a risk of overdoing things and cutting them through all immigration, legality and asylum.”

Host Blake Berman said, “Would you give the president credit at the border? Because when you talk about thrashing and what he's done, numbers talk for yourself.

Goldman replied. And there are people – 20, 25% of asylum seekers are granted asylum because they have a legitimate fear of persecution in their homes. We are now all fleeing the tyranny and government criminal organizations, the outlaws, and we are telling them? no. We are a country that has traditionally welcomed people suffering all over the world. Our country is benefiting from it, and our economy is benefiting from it. And if you are through all immigration, legality and asylum, you will hurt our economy, and you will hurt people all over the world. ”
