911 Call Details Crocodile Attack

The chaotic Florida 911 call recorded a group of kayakers trying to save the life of a woman attacked by a crocodile while paddling on a canal near the Polk Osseora County Line.
An unidentified man called 911 pm on Monday reported that a woman in a group of 30 kayakers had been bitten by a crocodile.
Crying, he explained that the Gator attacked the woman's elbow, robbing her life jacket from another man in the group.
“She's in shock,” the caller said. “She's in real pain.”

The 911 operator suggested creating a simulated tourniquet to slow down excessive bleeding, but the caller said The first aid kit was still on the boat.
“No one really wants to get into the water,” he said. “…The Gator might still be there.”
Although he couldn't see where the crocodile went, the man said he could see the stolen life jacket swaying in the water, assuming it was under the vest.

As the group tried to render aid, the woman screamed in pain and refused to allow her to wrap her arms around.
“She's in so much pain,” the caller said. “…They can't open her arms.”
The operator initially didn't seem to know that the group was traveling kayaking in contrast to electric boats, and asked the group to move the woman to the boat and reach the boat ramp.

“If there's a lamp, we'll be golden, but no,” he said. “We're in a damp area. She's half the brush. They almost got her from the water.”
An emergency crew attempted to reach the group and track the caller's phone at the location, but the woman's condition worsened.
“[She is] It's not going to work,” he told the operator. My pulse and pulse are weaker. …They are doing everything they can. ”

Crocodile and Lifebest were about a quarter of a mile from the scene when the helicopters found the group and began circleting.
“We're holding the paddle,” the caller said.

Approximately 44 minutes after the call was received, the helicopter landed and rescuers arrived at the group by airboat.
The woman was taken to the hospital, but her current status is unknown. Reports from Fox 13.
