Adrienne Adams joins NYC mayoral race, blasts rival Eric Adams

New York City Council Chairman Adrian Adams is throwing her hat in the mayoral race after weeks of speculation that he joined the crowded field of candidates looking to let Mayor Eric Adams get out of hospital, according to the report.

“New Yorkers can't afford to live here, city hall is in turmoil and Donald Trump is corrupting the independence of our city,” council leaders said in a statement. “That's when you stand up.”

In the days leading up to Wednesday's announcement, speculation about Adams' late entrance into the mayoral race ahead of the Democratic primary.

“I wasn't planning on running for mayor, but I haven't given up on New York City,” Queen's Pol told the outlet.

“Our cities deserve leaders who always serve people, not people who focus on themselves or their political interests.

“I'm a civil servant, a mother, a Queens girl, and I'm running towards the mayor. There's no drama or nonsense. It's just my commitment to guiding ability and integrity.”
