The Australian teen faces charges after being detained by a passenger and a pilot allegedly on a flight with a shotgun on Thursday.
The officer responded to Avalon Airport, a suburb of Melbourne, around 2:20pm local time, saying, “The man is allegedly entered into a commercial flight armed with firearms.” I said In a statement.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody by his crew and passengers while on flight, officials said. A video shared by ABC News Australia says a teenager who is allegedly disguised as an airport worker is seen in the hands of the crew.
The captain can be seen grabbing the teenage suspect's arm as he kicks what appears to be a shotgun away from the boy. The pilot then grabs the tool from the belt around the suspect's waist and throws it out of reach. One worker can be seen removing the belt before the group places the suspect on the plane's floor.

The teen was charged with illegally controlling the aircraft, putting the aircraft safe operation at risk, putting the aircraft safety at risk, poses threats to the aircraft safety, dangerous aircraft material, bomb hoaxes, firearms and traffic-related attacks, the press release said.
Passenger Barry Clark, who helped detain a suspicious, armed teen; recall Incident on a JetStar flight to ABC News Australia.
“He's upset and there's a gun before we know it,” he said. “All I could do was push it [the flight attendant] To keep the gun out of the way, break it, put down the stairs, grab him, and throw him on the ground until the police arrive. ”
Clark told the outlet he was asking the teen who dressed the workers before he realized that the flight attendant was told he had a gun.
“You're not thinking, you'll act,” Clark said of his thoughts during the incident. “You didn't want to see a poor girl get shot, so you started doing what you have to do.”
Passenger Kim McLeod I said The guardian whose passengers disembarked after the suspect was detained and the airport was blocked.
“This must have been a very horrifying incident for the passengers on that plane. The Victorian police really praise the passengers for the courage they were able to overwhelm the man,” Victoria Police Principal Michael Reid told the Guardian.
“[It’s] I am very concerned that a person will first breach security, approach an aircraft, and get closer to being inside the aircraft with a firearm,” he continued. “We can't express more clearly how concerned it is.”
According to Victoria Police, the teen will remain in custody and will appear in Children's Court at a later date.
