The Trump administration has now officially decided that Maine is violating the federal Title IX rules by refusing to comply with the ban on trans athletes playing in women's sports.
The US Department of Health and Human Services' Civil Rights Bureau Sent A letter to the Maine Attorney General informs Maine officials that the state's education department violates the rules and that a compliance review is ongoing, WMTW-TV reported.
A February 25 letter stated that Maine “violates Title IX by denying female student athletes in Maine.
State officials have not commented on letters or compliance reviews.
Maine Governor Janet Mills insisted on verbal attacks on President Donald Trump at a governor's meeting at the White House in February after Trump warned Mills that he would be better off following the Title IX rules on transgender athletes. Mills smirked, “Look at you in court,” as he threatened legal action against the president's rules.
Maine Democrats also moved to denounce Republican lawmakers for opposing transgender people.
Last month, Maine Republican state legislator Laurel Libby blew up government Mills after refusing to follow President Donald Trump's Title IX rules.
Libby also shared the story of trans athletes dominating girls' track competitions on social media. After she posted the story, Democrats, who dominate power in the state government, boldly denounced their representatives of posting the story with criticism of trans athletes.
