An adult man wielding a firearm was shot by a US Secret Service officer near the White House in Washington, D.C., shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The agency said the encounter took place near the intersection of 17 and F Streets in NW.
NPR Report Local police had previously reported “suicides” that could travel from Indiana to D.C., the agency added.
The Secret Service representative found the individual vehicle and on foot, finding someone who fit the description.
“As officers approached, individuals wielded firearms and armed conflicts continued, during which time fired by staff,” the Secret Service detailed in a statement. Share X by spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

“On Sunday, March 9th, an adult man was shot dead by a US Secret Service official following an armed conflict with law enforcement in Washington, D.C.
Earlier on Saturday, local police shared information about suicides who could travel from Indiana to Washington, D.C. Around midnight, members of the Secret Service encountered a private parking vehicle near 17th and F Streets northwest. They also saw individuals walking along, matching descriptions nearby.
As the officers approached, individuals wielded firearms and armed conflicts continued, during which time fired by our staff.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital, and his condition is unknown. No injuries have been reported by Secret Service personnel.
The case is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department's Interior Force Investigation Team, which investigates investigating all law enforcement officers involving all law enforcement officers in the District of Columbia. ”
President Donald Trump was at his home in Mar Arago, Florida, during the shooting that occurred just a block away from the White House.
The suspect's status is currently unknown.
The capital police station will investigate as the shooting was linked to law enforcement officials.
