Potential severe weather outbreak puts millions on alert for damaging winds, tornadoes this week

Tens of millions of Americans from the Midwest to the southeast will have an even more tense week as concerns grow that the US could shaking due to another day of severe weather outbreaks.

March usually marks the beginning of a tough, active spring weather season, and this new risk comes after a fatal, severe weather outbreak was swept across the country last week.

This week, predictors will monitor the possibility of serious thunderstorms from strong thunderstorms as they approach the middle of the week and prepare to welcome the weekend.

Questions remain regarding the threat of serious bad weather

The Fox Forecast Center said on Wednesday that the possibility of severe weather across the ARK-LA-TEX region could increase as higher levels of lower pressure systems move east from southwest to the southwest plains.

However, there is still uncertainty regarding the strength and positioning of the system. One computer predictive model shows a more intense system with powerful higher-level winds, which could promote the development of storms.

On the other hand, another model shows a weak system, which limits the range of the storm.

Moisture from the Gulf Coast is expected to migrate to parts of the Texas and Arcratex regions, but variability in surface features makes it difficult to identify potentially adverse weather conditions.

Friday could be the start of a multi-day, harsh weather threat

Forecasters say the threat of greater harsh weather on Friday and Saturday is looming as strong, higher-level obstructions move from the plains to the eastern US.

“This is an update this morning,” said Kendall Smith, a Fox meteorologist. “The Storm Prediction Centre went ahead and added more Antes. So now it's Level 3 of the five risks on Friday and part of the Southeast and Central South.”

The lower surface, which deepens, will draw moisture from the bay and send it north to the Mississippi Valley on Friday, and southeast by Saturday.

“The risk of tornadoes, a severe storm in the zone of wind and h damage is expected from Arcratex to Mississippi Valley on Friday,” NOAA's Storm Forecast Center (SPC) said. “Serious risks will shift eastward on Saturday.”

SPC pointed out The northern and eastern extent of the threat of bad weather remains uncertain, and changes in forecasts likely change as the week continues.

Forecasters are urging people in threatened areas to “prepare now” for possible bad weather and monitor forecasts.
