Well, free agency didn't last long on two Pro Bowl defensive tackle Grady Jarrett.
Hours after the Atlanta Falcons released their fan favorites, the Chicago Bears reportedly came to Jarrett with the correct deal and agreed to a three-year, $43.5 million contract per NFL network.
Jarrett, the fifth NFL draft pick in 2015, spent all 10 of his NFL season with the Falcons, growing into a strong defensive tackle on the Scrimmage line.

A Prime Runstaffer and someone who can get a quarterback on the ground – 36.5 sacks in 152 career games – Jarrett will take part in the Bears' defense, showing solid play in 2024 despite the team's poor record.
The defensive line was clearly a priority for Chicago's GM Ryan Paul this offseason as he agreed to a deal with former Indianapolis Colts Edge Rush Dayodinibo for $48 million over three years per NFL network.

Jarrett is used to being tasked with getting consistent pressure in the interior, but the Bears are sweating Montes and Gelbondexter Senior should be next to Jarrett this season.
Chicago also returns TJ Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds at the middle linebackers, with Jacquan Brisker, Jayron Johnson, Kevin Byard III and Tyrique Stevenson, and occasionally stagnant secondary.

As expected, the Bears are busy elsewhere this offseason, desperately trying to build a No. 1 overall pick from quarterback Caleb Williams a year ago.
To support Williams specifically, the Bears added Drew Dalman, former Falcons teammate of Jarrett, the top center for free agency, on Monday. Former Kansas City Chiefs versatile veterans Joe Sunny and the Los Angeles Rams also came before Dalman.
In the tough NFC North division, the Bears are hoping to arm new head coach Ben Johnson, the Detroit Lions offensive guru, to compete for playoff spots on both sides of the ball.

Adding the presence of veterans like Jarrett to the line of defense seems to be another good signature for teams that improve on paper.
