Local reports say the 14-year-old Texas girl was stabbed to death by her classmates during a school fight.
A brawl between the teenager and another girl broke out at Roy J. Middle School in Killeen about an hour north of Austin at about 11:25am Monday. KWTX reported.
The young girl turned into a knife with a fracas and was disbanded within minutes when paramedics rushed to the scene.
The middle schooler whose name has not been made public has rushed to the hospital where he was injured.
The attacker, who confirmed that the Killeen Police Station was a minor woman, was arrested immediately.
Police are investigating the incident as murder.
“Killeen ISD is extremely saddened to share the tragic news that took place at Roy J. Middle School,” Karen Rudolph, executive director of the Independent School District, said in a statement.
The incident threw a middle school into blockade.
“Smith's family, we want to let you know about the circumstances that took place on our campus this morning. Students are injured and are being transported to get medical care,” Lily's message said.
“We understand that this may be a concern and we want to ensure that the safety and well-being of our students and staff is our number one priority. We will update as soon as possible,” she added.
All students were later bused to a nearby church for pick-up.
