Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Monday that the court is requesting that the previous district attorney move to resent Lyle and Eric Menendez. He called the brother's claims of self-defense a series of “lies.”

“Our position is that they shouldn't leave prison,” Hochman said at a press conference Monday. “We bring that position to the court. The court can agree to it, the court can oppose it or modify it in some way.”
Nevertheless, he said his office was “ready to move forward” at the hearing in connection with their restik case, if necessary.
The brothers spend their lives in prison without the opportunity to be parole in the murders of their parents Jose and Kitty Menendez in 1989, their hearing is scheduled for March 20th.th and 21st.
Hochman said “The brothers have been telling these lies about self-defense defense for over the past 30 years and have been insisting on not trying to latent perjury or perjury, so they have not met the standards of rehabilitation.”
“If at some point, and at some point, fully embrace the full responsibility for all criminal conduct in good faith, completely and completely, then admit that the defense of self-defense is fake and that their parents were not intending to kill them, and finally, in court, you can lie in the public, along with the office of the DA, with your own family, with your family, and with your family, and with your family. And then again. [DA’s office] They'll do the same thing,” he continued.
The DA explained that he made the decision after consulting with Menendez's family, defense attorneys and previous prosecutors, then investigating trial transcripts, prison records and testimony from the photographed trial.
He also raised points related to the plan, noting that the brothers used fake IDs to go to San Diego before the murder to buy firearms. On the night of the murder, they began preparing their alibi and buying movie tickets, the DA reminded the public.
Hochman allegedly tried to make the murder a gang shoot by shooting Jose and Kitty Menendez with the patella after being shot dead.
However, the term “knee coefficient” suggests kneecap shooting, but it's more accurate to say that gang members are often targeting the knee area.
The two brothers “had the presence of a mind that picked up every shotgun shell” to hide their fingerprints. They then dumped their blood-covered clothing along with the gun – Hochmann added.
He continued to insist that the Menendez brothers “told 20 lies and then only four of them.”
Initially, the brothers claimed they were innocent and suggested that the murder of their parents might have been linked to the mafia.
However, Eric Menendez later confessed the crime to his therapist, and the police were given a confession tape. It revealed the truth about their involvement.
“They have convinced that not only the media, but also the police, but also the family and friends, who are 100% innocent of these crimes.
The brothers then claimed that their mother raped Lyle Menendez and their father raped Eric Menendez.
The brothers insisted on self-defense during the trial, claiming that they were sexually abused by their father, and that their parents were ultimately planning to kill them.
However, “self-defense defense was counterfeit,” Hochmann insisted.
“That's what Eric said. [his father] Hochmann explained. “He said his mother would be a witness to the crime, so she had to die, [and she] My father was cheating, so it was very tragic… [and] My mother could not live without her father. ”
“The brothers never got clean, admitting they were lying about their self-defense and potential perjury, and attempting to dive perjury from their friends because of the lies that Lyle's girlfriend, mother, raped her family violently and tried to get them to get a handgun the day before the murder,” the DA said.
Hochman also said the brothers “lied when they testified that when they exploded into a den with a shotgun that it was too dark and that their parents were standing up or moving.”
“Expert testimony always showed that their parents were sitting on the couch,” or that they were injured on the ground when shot.
The brothers also lied to the family fishing trip a day before the murder when they testified that their parents were trying to kill them,” Hochmann argued.
After DA's remarks, Lyle Menendez posted on Facebook and said, “All 'lie' [Hochman] Spoken, some of them were granted/specified at the first trial. …and some other “lies” were absolutely disproveable or reasonably debated. ”
The DA announcement was also criticized by Menendez's family, who wanted to free his brother. They argued that Hochman “ignored the fact that they were repeatedly abused, feared their lives and astoned their actions.
“Eric and Lyle are not the same young boys they were more than 30 years ago,” the family said in a statement. “They apologized for their actions, which was the result of Jose's sexual abuse and the possibility of Kitty. They apologised for the horrifying behavior they took. They apologised to us, and they demonstrated their tone crime through actions that helped improve countless lives. However, Da Hochman effectively asks them to a publicly apologize to a checklist of actions they took in shock and fear.”
