13 injured in school bus crash on NJ’s Garden State Parkway

13 people were injured, including a seriously injured child, when a school bus back to New York crashed at Garden State Park on Monday night, officials said.

The bus carried 31 residents when it crashed on the north side of the New Jersey Parkway with mile marker 170.9, Mayor Monver, Mayor Mike Gassari, posted in a statement.

Firefighters rescued 31 residents of the bus and sent 13 to a local hospital.

During the rescue operation, a first response can be seen surrounding the bus on the parkway, with firefighters flashlights shining.

“We are truly grateful to all first responders and first responders in nearby towns for their prompt support, Gassari said in a statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured and their families during these difficult times.”

It is unknown where the New York bus is located.

The official cause of the crash has not been announced.
