The flagship event of the PGA Tour begins today.
The 2025 championship takes place about a month before the first major championship (the Masters starts on April 10), featuring a field of 144 players competing for the largest awards wallet on the tour.
Golfers have several ways to qualify for athletics championships. Previous winners of the PGA Tour Championships, recent recipients of major championships, players and World Golf Championships, and key players in the FedEx Cup rankings are all given spots to the field.
World number one golfer Scotty Scheffler won the top prize at the final two championships. He has yet to win the tournament on the 2025 PGA Tour, but he was an injured, consistent competitor.
