California Democrats shutdown Efforts to erode self-defense after massive backlash from their members and the Second Amendment Advocates.
Democrat Rick Chavez Zbur said misinformation pulled a bill that restricted self-defense if he said he had fallen into a legal loophole.
“As a father and as a victim of a home invasion, I understand how essential the right to self-defense is.”
“Protecting public safety has always been my number one priority. AB 1333 sought to close a dangerous legal loophole that would allow armed invaders to launch conflicts in public, kill victims and misuse the Self-Defense Act to avoid accountability,” he wrote of the proposal.
Zbur previously dealt with rage over the bill. He said he was trying to prevent incidents like Kyle Rittenhouse. 2021, Trump met Rittenhouse He then condemned “prosecutor's misconduct” in which he faced accusations of shooting and death of three men in self-defense.
“The bill was not intended to change the doctrine of the castle over the years and affect one's ability to protect one's own, her family or her home,” he added. “As a father and as a victim of a break-in into my own home, I understand how essential the right to self-defense is.”
Democrats were going to change the bill and make it clearer, but instead pulled it out for good.
“AB 1333 never intended to limit the rights of crime victims to protect themselves, your family, or your home,” Zbur previously wrote on social media. “The goal is to prevent aspiring vigilantes like Kyle Rittenhouse from inciting violence and claiming self-defense after the fact.”
Democrats in the California state legislature are focused on leading the state to leaders who oppose the agenda of President Donald Trump.
