California officials are looking for a man suspected Necklace A sea lion in Sonoma County was riding his e-bike with the animal's severed head.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said a sea lion was found dead at Dolan Regional Park in Bodega Bay on Christmas Day. Later that day, park staff discovered that the animal's head had been amputated.

“As with sea lions and other marine mammals, harassment, capture and killing is prohibited.”

Witnesses told officials they saw the witness using an 8-inch black knife to look at the animal's head and put it in a plastic bag before riding the e-bike.

This man was said to have been sun-tanned complexioned wearing black clothes and riding a black fat tire e-bike between the ages of 30 and 40.

NOAA law enforcement agencies provide $20,000 for information that leads to a man's conviction or civil penalty. Like sea lion mammals, harassing, capture or killing is prohibited by the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

The strange incident follows a similar attack, with authorities saying a man attacking the sea lion with a large stick. Not only has the animal been found to be pregnant, it also suffers from poisoning from domoacid, a neurotoxin produced when the fish eats algae.

The man was charged with felony animal cruelty and possession of a controlled substance after police said he found him possessing methamphetamine.
