The Daily Mail featured some of the “rich and famous” elites out of the 6,100 Americans who fled the United States and applied for British citizenship.
They are called “Donald Dashers” and bolt for New Zealand and the UK. Jump 26% since 2023, marking a record high in 20 years. It's a story of ephete panic – they say Trump's America is unthinkable. Except that's not proof, it's cosplay and the data proves it's a fantasy in which only a handful of spoiled brats can afford to indulge.
Someone once said, “The British and Americans are two separate in a common language.” But those who have been uprooted to move to Notting Hill, London, may suspect that they are neighbours and one people united by a light emptying against common sense.
President Trump slams Rosie O'Donnell after he escapes us: “You better not know.”
The Census Bureau's 2023 State-to-State Transition Flow Report tells the real story. California lost 268,052 residents nets – 690,127 people moved to other states, and 422,075 people moved. Texas has received 133,372 – 611,942 arrivals and 478,570 departures. This is 15 times the 6,100 “dashes” that abandoned the country.

New York is not good. 481,544 moved to other states, with 302,835 moving to 302,835, a net loss of 178,709. Where did they go? Top spot Florida has won 71,906 New Yorkers, earning 126,008 nets – 636,933 arrivals and 510,925 departures.
The blue states are empty, and the red states are thriving.
Back up this. California grew in 2024 with a 0.8% increase in private sector jobs. New York was in strong shade with a 1.4% growth in private salaries. Both Texas have achieved employment growth of 2.1%. It's 52% higher than New York and 156% higher than California.

California's Democratic government, Gavin Newsom, is likely excited to leave next year so that he can put some distance between the smoking ruins of California's economy and the expected journey to the president.
Meanwhile, Texas, the epitome of Red State Trump America, is a magnet for workers and businesses. People don't run away from opportunities – they chase it. But “Dashers” ignored this, clutching their passports, millions of people have moved to Trump-friendly states and remained away.
Trump's approval of pure work tells a different story. Since his inauguration, he has almost half of his corners in RealClearpolitics. If he is such a nightmare, why is 6,100 out of 340 million people planning an international escape?
These “dashes” do not escape reality. They live their fantasies. Maybe they think Trump is coming to tax cuts. The same cuts he fatt their wallets in his first semester. Maybe they bought the media's “fascism” hype, despite four years of Trump leaving caviar untouched and strengthening his right to free speech.

Whatever it is, it is not America that the rest of us see. “Dash” cannot square this in a dystopian script, so they should jets abroad, vote in the vans and U-Hauls, move from blue to red, chase freedom and work, don't escape from Trump.
“Donald Dashers” are a large minority dressing up refugees from non-existent tyranny. A boutique rebellion ends with a whisper.
