Aaron Rodgers waiting on Vikings, Kevin O’Connell in free agency

Aaron Rodgers clearly likes where he wants to play next year.

But is it mutual?

Rogers wants to sign with the Vikings, According to Athleticsas the Giants and Steelers are waiting for him to make up for his heart.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell has the biggest influence on whether Minnesota pursues Rodgers, the report added.

The Viking already has JJ McCarthy. He drafted last year with the 10th standout pick, but he missed all his rookie years due to two separate knee surgeries and remains a big question mark.

And they walked Sam Darnold, who enjoyed a career renaissance with the team last year, in free agency before signing a three-year, $105.5 million contract with the Seahawks.

The Giants desperately need a quarterback and met with Russell Wilson and Joe Flaco this week, Paul Schwartz of the Post confirmed.

Rodgers spent his final two seasons with the Jets, but was limited to just a few snaps from 2023-24 as Achilles was defeated.

The Jets last year went 5-12 with Rodgers under center, scoring 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
