Value over price: How Trump’s tariffs HELP Americans

President Trump's critics have warned about tariffs, but it appears they only look at the fees in terms of the amount.

“To some extent you can't blame them because it's true that tariffs can increase the costs of goods and services. But of course, legacy media and President Trump's neocon critics have not done this in sincerity,” says Liz Wheeler of The Liz Wheeler of The Liz Wheeler Show.

“These are people who know all the prices, but they know nothing worth it,” Wheeler continues. “Cheap products don't make a country, they don't get it.”

“We are not dismissing the fact that if Trump's tariffs continue, some products could become more expensive,” she added, saying in the 1990s Americans had been promised that NAFTA's trade and globalization with China would cause costs of living.

“They told us more luxury, more democracy,” Wheeler said. “But what actually happened to Americans? Well, between 2000 and 2017, 5.5 million American manufacturing jobs left the country.”

“When they left, the Americans, especially the Americans who filled these jobs, suddenly lost their job dignity,” she continues. “So what happens when your work is gone? What happens when God has innately placed in his heart and what God intended for them, but they can't because they have no work, so what happens when men want to provide their families?”

Well, what happens is that those unemployed Americans turn into escapism.

“That's exactly what happened between 1999 and 2021. More than 640,000 Americans have died from opioid overdose,” Wheeler says. “These Americans got obsessed with drugs. Why? Well, places like Vice President J.D. Vance have hollowed out and lost most of the previously maintained manufacturing jobs.”

“They lost not only their income, but the deeper meaning of life,” she continues. “So the elite said that increasing free trade would improve lives by providing cheaper products and increasing relations between Canada and Mexico.”

“And we got cheaper products, by the way. There's more luxury. But you'd be hard to say that America and American people have come to the top,” she adds.
