Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy proposed eliminating the Ohio income tax, noting that the people there are “deserving” what they earned.
between speech At the Lucas County Republican annual Lincoln Day Dinner, Lamaswamy spoke about Texas being the number one state where people are relocating, and Florida was second in all states. Ramaswamy added that Ohio is ranked among the 38 states where people are relocating, and he hopes to “lead” the state “to number one.”
“Texas is number one. Florida's second is moving, not moving,” Ramaswamy said. “We're number 38. I want to bring us back to number 1. So there are a few things that we need to do. If we're playing number 1, we have to do it in this state. For example, as leadership did, we're going to cut the state's income tax to zero brackets to remove not just seven brackets, but two, as well as the income tax in this state.”
“Ohio Zero Income Tax,” Ramaswamy added. “It's your money, not your government. You deserve to maintain what you earned. You have to celebrate your efforts and success.”
A recent Storagecafe report using data from the US Condemnation Bureau in 2023 found that Texas had 137,582 net immigrants in the state, while Florida had 136,750 net immigrants.
North Carolina ranked third, with 110,833 net moves entering the state, and South Carolina ranked fourth with 72,404 net moves moving to the state.
Ohio ranked 38th in the state list, with 8,266 net transfers leaving the state.
“If the other eight states manage to do that, we'll be in Ohio too,” Ramaswamy continued. “People ask me, 'How are you going to do that?' Look, and if we were to be the first man in the world to walk someone to the moon, this wouldn't be the biggest challenge Ohio has ever been pregnant. ”
State without income taxes are Florida, Alaska, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wyoming and Tennessee. According to Turbotax.
As reported previously by Breitbart News, President Donald Trump in February supported Lamaswamy for the governor, describing him as “something special.” Trump added that Ramaswamy was “young, strong, clever” and that he really loved the United States.
