The Trump administration recently sent over 250 Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, where it will be held at the infamous mega prison.

The prisoners will be held in El Salvador Prison after President Donald Trump and El Salvador President Naive Buquere are able to sign a contract to hold the prisoners “at a fair price.”
The flight included 238 members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua Gang and 23 members of the MS-13 Gang.
“We faced justice in El Salvador with two dangerous top MS-13 leaders and 21 most wanted leaders. We also sent over 250 alien enemy members of Tren de Aragua, as promised by @Potus. President @nayibbukele is not only the strongest security leader in our region, but also a great friend of the United States. Thank you!” wrote Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday.
The gang members were immediately transferred to CECOT, the terrorism confinement centre, a megaprison built to house the most ruthless members of the criminal organization.
Salvador's murder rate has dropped dramatically following the opening of MegaPrison in 2022 and cracking down on violent gangs terrorizing the country.
The Bukere government has managed to arrest more than 84,000 criminals with its consistent efforts to crack down on gang violence.
Regarding the transaction, Bukere explained that the US “pays a very low fee” because it “pays a very low fee.”
“As time passes, these actions are combined with production already produced by more than 40,000 inmates engaged in various workshops and labor under the Zero Idleness program, which will help to make the prison system independent. As of today, it costs $200 million a year,” he continued.
“As always, we continue to fight organized crime. But this time we have gained the vital intelligence to support our allies, to independently build our prison system and to make our nation even safer. Everything is in a single action. May God bless El Salvador and God bless America,” added Bukere.
The laws that remove criminals from the United States coincides with President Donald Trump's agenda, backed by the majority of Americans, “make America safe again.”
President Trump has sued alien enemy laws to consolidate orders to remove gang members “illegally infiltrating the United States, carrying out irregular wars and carrying out hostile actions against the United States.”
