Authorities say the 2024 disappearance of California moms is currently being investigated as a murder.
Nikki Cheng Saelee-McCain's family reported missing from his Anderson home on May 22, 2024.
“Since the initial investigation, detectives have been tirelessly trying to find Nikki and decide what will lead to her loss,” the Shasta County Sheriff's Office said in a March 14 press release. “The detectives have provided numerous search warrants, including previous search warrants at Nikki's residence. Additionally, the detectives have interviewed Nikki's family, friends and acquaintances, including citizens who reported information about her loss.”
On March 14, detectives and agents from the Department of Homeland Security (HSI) and FBI were warned at Anderson Home in Saelee-McCain.

Based on the evidence gathered from searches and interviews, the fact that McCain's family had not heard from her since May 18, 2024 decided to die of Saelee-McCain, deducing the death to be murder.
The sheriff's office has identified anyone interested in her murder, but said their “identity is withheld due to the ongoing nature of this investigation.”

Authorities are seeking public assistance in identifying a red truck driver who may have picked up a male adult in the area of Highway 36, west of Tehama County, near R Wildhorse Ranch, between May 18th and May 25th, 2024.
Saelee-McCan's husband, Tyler McCain, was brought to trial on felony domestic abuse charges when his wife disappeared. The incident was removed last July due to the loss of Saelee-McCain and the fact that she was unable to testify against her husband. According to KRCR.

Tyler McCain made his first comment since his wife disappeared at a press conference on March 11th.
“I miss you,” he said, according to KRCR. “I really don't know what to say.”

He continued to apologise for not being “in the public eye” since his loss of his wife and “it didn't work very well.”
“I apologize to everyone, especially my children. My wife's family is mine too,” he said. “I support you here, so I want to do whatever I can, whatever I can.”

A $30,000 reward is offered to anyone who provides information to authorities that could lead to the location of Saelee-McCain.
