The 2025 MLB regular season opens today, and for the five players between the Cubs and Dodgers lineup, it will be homecoming.
The defending World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers will play a two-game series with the Chicago Cubs at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. The Dodgers have three Japanese-born players, including the current National League MVP shoe, Hei ohtani, but the Cubs have two.

The game begins with a historic pitching matchup between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roda Village Imanaga. This is the first time a Japanese pitcher has faced it on the first day.
