Shedeur Sanders Rumor Mill is hit on the hot pitch.
Amid growing criticism, which includes questions revolving around his perceived rog haughty answers to questions at the NFL combine and lack of “elite talent,” Sanders could potentially be second in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
The former NFL scout called on air host Ringer Todd McShay on the podcast on “McShay Show.”
He added that the Browns front office needs to draft Sanders and that he hopes head coach Kevin Stefanski will try to save pocket passersby and employment like Sanders.
“They are more handcuffed by other organisations in one contract. Desshaun Watson,” McShey said. “You really need to win quickly to save the job… So, how do you solve the crisis? They are in crisis in their quarterback position… Desshaun Watson is probably the worst contract given to an individual in the history of the sport.
“They just need solid quarterback play. They don't need elite quarterback play… No. 1, [Browns GM Andrew Berry] You can't expect to pick this high again…and if that's the case, it's very likely that Berry and Stephanski are coming out of work. No. 2, for Watson's deal, you don't have the cap space to sign a big ticket. So Cleveland's best chance to win in the short and long term is to hit gold with this No. 2 pick.
“If I were Andrew Berry, my biggest asset in this mess is my head coach. Stefanski is my biggest asset. Stefanski has a track record of making the most of quarterbacks, where mobility is limited.”
The theory makes sense as the Wild Quarterback Carousel this offseason shows that many teams are looking for consistent play under center.
Aaron Rodgers is the last Domino collapse in that market as the Giants, Steelers and perhaps the Vikings continue to contact the former Jet.
There's a world where Rogers sets off for Pittsburgh or Minnesota, then Camward and Sanders are drafted first and second.
That's how Giants' brass stare at the barrels between now and April.
McShay glosed Cleveland, who took Shedeur in the No. 2 a week ago. I really believe Shedeur Sanders are playing with the second pick of Cleveland Browns.”
Stefanski has shown he can win with a variety of quarterbacks and earned Coach of the Year honors as he was massaged towards the playoffs for a high-level play that was massaged by 38-year-old Joe Flacco in 2023.
He was also the Vikings quarterback coach when his career backup Case Keenum spent his career years while leading the playoff runs.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared similar sentiments on “The Dampatrick Show” on Monday.
“They had a bit of a grasp on it,” Fowler said. All SI.com. “I know they like Chedur, and if they're willing to choose the second place overall I can't say, I know there's love so that Chedur Sanders and his computer brain can feel the game mentally.
What the Browns do in the draft could have an impact on the Giants if Rogers and Russell Wilson general manager Joe Shane take a strike.
Flacco and Jameis Winston both recently visited the team as a fallback option.
The Giants are expected to try to trade with the first pick and draft words, but the Titans may prefer to just put them.
