The woman accused of luring a sports reporter at a hotel near New Orleans faces murder charges, local police said Tuesday.
Serial con artist Dannet Colbert was arrested last month after accompanying 27-year-old Adan Manzano, a correspondent for Telemundo, covering the Super Bowl, to the hotel room where he was later found dead.
Now, Kenner police have booked Colbert for the second murder charge, New Orleans supporters reported.
In security camera footage, Colbert enters the comfort in suite with Manzano, then leaves himself, re-entering, and sets off again the day he is found dead.
Benzodiazepines were discovered in the Manzano system and are presented for initial toxicology screening.
Police also said Colbert has won charges against Manzano's credit card at a store around New Orleans.
After his arrest, Colbert earned the nickname “Bourbon Street Hustler” due to his long history of theft and credit card fraud, including two schemes that included men's drugs and robbery.
“She's a career criminal. Colbert has a considerable record and rap sheet for his confident gaming, access device fraud and robbery plot,” Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley told reporters after his arrest.
