Trump vs. Maine: State responds to notice of Title IX violations

President Donald Trump's Department of Health and Human Services' Civil Rights Office announced Monday that the Maine Department of Education, the Maine Principal Association and Greeley High School are all violating Title IX as they are violating executive orders to keep trans athletes out of women's sports.

The Main Principals Association released its response to the announcement on Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“The alleged violation is due to MPA's policy, a direct result of Maine's human rights law, a mandate that athletes are permitted to participate in a team that is gender identity. The MPA's policy is consistent with Maine's law,” the response read.

“The MPA looks forward to solid discussions in the Maine Legislature and to determine the future of policies on this topic, urging all parties to this issue to air the questions, concerns, thoughts or opinions they belong to.
