Xavier (-2.5) is in Texas

The team's key goalscorer and rebounder musket senior Zach Fremantle has been waiting for this moment after missing nearly two years, including Xavier's 2023 suite 16 run due to injuries. Playmaking guard Ryan Conwell was made in March and scored at least 20 points on his four straight wins before an explosion of 38 points in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. Shawn Miller (21-12 in the NCAA Tournament) is one of the nation's top shooting teams to win seven of their last eight games, and was able to do another run in week two.

Texas scored the highest ever mark with most losses by the AT-Large NCAA Tournament Team (19-15), bringing Kenpom.com's top 50 teams (Xavier ranks 43rd) to 5-13, losing eight of the last 12 games. Texas is talented, but inconsistent, indisciplined, and fouling at one of the highest fees in the country (over 26% of its property).

Mount St. Mary's (+2.5) from Americans

According to kenpom.com, this blockbuster matchup will take place between two of the four “luckiest” teams across the country. The Americans need it more, relying on attacks that make up nearly 45% of their shots beyond the arc to protest against the defense that has made their opponents a 31.4% three-point fire.
