Fox News was most-watched network during coverage of astronauts’ landing

The Americans have tailored it to the Fox News Channel as they are breaking news reports of astronauts' return to Earth more than any other network.

“Special Report with Bret Baier” was nearly an hour dedicated to Elon Musk's SpaceX rescue mission, with eight days of astronauts and Butch Wilmore focusing on the rescue mission that was in space for nine months in what appears to be an eight-day mission. Viewers peaked with 5.6 million viewers, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.

This was far higher than viewers on three broadcast networks. CBS followed by 1.8 million ABC and 1.1 million NBC's, along with 2.9 million viewers.

Additionally, Fox News crushed liberal cable news competitors, both across audiences and the demographics cited by advertisers. CNN and MSNBC are effectively under 1.2 million viewers and 181,000 and 90,000 in key demos, far below the Fox News '606,000 average in time slots.

Following reports of the landing, 4.4 million viewers matched Fox News' “Ingraham Angle” to Lowline Graham's one-on-one sit-in with President Trump. Both CNN and MSNBC had an average total of approximately 820,000 viewers.

“Hannity” maintained Fox News' momentum with ET Timeslot at 9pm, along with a total of 3.9 million viewers who watched an interview with Sean Hannity's Musk from Fox News. MSNBC ranked second with a total audience of 2.3 million, while CNN scored under 600,000.
