Kevin O'Leary: Walz's Tesla stock quip 'beyond stupid'

Investor Kevin O'Leary has denounced Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz (d) for his jokes about Elon Musk and Tesla Stock, calling it “silly.”

CNN panel contributor O'Leary has put pressure on the company's stocks to fall as recent attacks on Tesla dealers and Musk's involvement in the Trump administration grows with unpopularity among the American public.

He blamed the waltz and told the crowd he recently got a “boost” every time he checked Tesla stock.

“The poor guy didn't check his portfolio and his own pension scheme for the state. That's beyond what he did,” O'Leary said.

O'Leary was referring Report From the Minnesota Investment Commission, which shows the state holds 1.6 million shares of Tesla in its retirement fund. The report is from June 2024, and recent data is not available.

He asked, “What is the problem with that man? He does not check the happiness of his own members.”

“What a booze,” O'Leary added.

Running with former Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Waltz has begun a tour of the country talking to people about the Trump administration.

He pointed out how Tesla stocks have fallen significantly since December as Musk engaged with the government's Ministry of Efficiency and his role in the administration grew.
