The Pentagon chief spokesman tore a “trash” New York Times report claiming billionaire Elon Musk will be explained on Friday about the US military's finest plans on a possible war with China.
“It's completely fake,” Sean Parnell said of an article about “Fox & Friends” Friday morning.
“This is terrible. It's a fake. The New York Times should retract this story,” he continued.
“This type of garbage from the New York Times… undermines our mission,” he said.
The Times reported that brass from the top Pentagon military will give Musk an explanation on many secret defense topics, including China, citing anonymous US officials.
The briefing includes a slideshow revealing how the US will fight the war with China, The Times reported.
Parnell pointed out that the mask is important to Dodd, but called the Times' work “silly.”
“We want people like Elon Musk from the Department of Defense to help come up with creative solutions to the problems we face today. But this article is ridiculous. It's fake. And I'll say that on the record.”
He also blows up articles about X, calling it “100% fake news” and “brave & maliciously wrong.”
“Elon Musk is a patriot,” Parnell wrote. “We're proud to have him in the Pentagon.”
President Trump responded to the article on Thursday, posting on his true social platform at the meeting that “China is never even mentioned or discussed.”
Pentagon chief Pete Hegses said in a post by X that the conference was “about innovation, efficiency and smarter production.”
