BREAKING: Trump Makes Surprise Move to Import Eggs from Unlikely Sources: Turkey and South Korea

Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins reported that millions of eggs have been imported from Turkey and South Korea, and more countries are expected to follow, citing recent discussions. She stated that they have spoken with several other countries that are planning to import eggs and that the deal has not yet been finalized, so she did not want to reveal the countries’ names.

“We’re talking hundreds of millions of eggs, which is significant and will help keep prices down in the short term,” Rollins emphasized. “Once our chicken populations are replenished and we return to normal egg production, we’ll be able to move those eggs to the shelf,” she said.

The Trump administration has been working to keep egg prices under control, as prices have skyrocketed due to concerns over the spread of avian flu, which led to the culling of millions of chickens and a resulting egg shortage, causing prices to rise. According to a projection from the Department of Agriculture, released last month, egg prices could increase by 41% in 2025.
