Charis Bilal certainly didn't waste any time.
Vanderbilt Security Guard entered the transfer portal in the first round of March Madness in 2025, just 13 minutes after Commodore's 59-56 defeat. He told his rivals.
Bilal didn't appear in a single game as a freshman this year, but as a result he wore a redshirt.
He reportedly traveled to Cleveland with his team and didn't even travel to Nashville for the SEC tournament.
Originally from Atlanta, Bilal is a three-star recruit and ranks as Georgia's 22nd best recruit.
He is a point guard and is listed at 6 feet 2 and 190 pounds.
Commodore, who was 10th-seeded with 12 points in the second half, had his lead evaporated when Augustus Marciulionis got into foul trouble and Gales guard Jordan Ross sparked a St. Mary's rally.
“We missed some shots around the rim,” Vanderbilt coach Mark Byyington said after the game. “We missed some Open 3s, and there was a lot of stuff there.

“I think those body blows have brought us. When those guys are that size, they're not losing weight or getting shorter throughout the game.”
