Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said President Donald Trump could “carve” the Supreme Court on ABC's “this week” if he continues to make a statement about Judge Break each on Sunday.
Christie said, “Look, it's this first quarter mo in the Trump administration and we're going to try and use the power of the presidency in any way possible. In this example, we believe it's a lawsuit that appears to be something that the government is mailing, and if it seems that the government is mailing, then it's a punishment for those suing us again to threaten them to use their rights as American citizens to access the court system. If people get up and say, I don't think this will be a big problem, but if Paul Weiss goes and creates a cave and is being blackmailed, we have a fairly different legal system in this country.”
Host Jonathan Carle asked, “Now, do you think he can turn to the Supreme Court before we go?”
“I think John Roberts agrees with him on most of the issues of enforcement, but if what he's doing continues to make statements like Judge Break each, I might not give him everything he wants to do,” Christie said. “I think John Roberts agrees with him on a large part of the issue of enforcement, but if what he's doing continues to make statements like Judge Break each, I might not give him everything he wants. Pocket, Trump should not chase after the judge.
