On ABC's “this week” Sunday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said he was right that President Donald Trump would “crash fentanyl and make sure our boundaries are getting stronger.”
Host Jonathan Carl said, “Do you think Trump is right?”
Sanders said, “Yeah, I mean, I think we're cracking down on fentanyl and making our borders stronger. Looking at it, no one thinks illegal immigration is appropriate, so I think there's a need for comprehensive immigration reform, but I don't think it's appropriate to meet illegally across borders.
He said, “The idea that Trump has, I don't know what his latest figures are. He wants to expel 20 million people in this undocumented country. Well, you do that, you do it, you get the news for you, I'm not going to choose crops in California because you got the news for you, mainly comprehensive immigration reform.”
