McCabe Warns: FBI Risks Overstretching Resources in Combating Immigration-Related Terrorism!

McCabe suggests FBI 'spreading their terrorism resources too thin' with recent immigration activity

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe indicated that the FBI is “overextending” its “terrorism resources” as some agents are reassigned to enforce immigration laws within the United States.

McCabe talked about the FBI’s newly formed task force and highlighted the increase in vandalism incidents involving Tesla cars and dealerships across the nation. He stated on CNN that a domestic terrorism division has existed for years, negating the need to “shift resources.” […] It was created for this very purpose. ”

“Does this raise suspicions about why this isn’t sufficient for the Department’s domestic defense terrorism unit to manage?” McCabe queried during his CNN appearance on Tuesday. “Perhaps it’s due to their recent assignments [to] focus on immigration activities. ”

McCabe remarked that the FBI, which collaborates with the Joint Terrorism Task Force to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations, believes it is “not advisable.”

“We don’t want the terrorism task force to transform into something that deals with anything other than terrorism,” he remarked.

The requirement for a specialized task force addressing Tesla vandalism might imply a shortage of adequate personnel and resources, he suggested.

“If a task force is now needed to handle this situation, it could signal that they are spreading their terrorism resources too thinly.”

The FBI’s new task force will comprise ten individuals in a cooperative effort with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the FBI’s counterterrorism unit.

Recently, numerous federal law enforcement agents from various agencies have been redirected to assist in addressing immigration issues, as reported by Reuters on Saturday, citing discussions with over 20 current and former federal agents, as well as other federal staff and legal representatives.

Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin informed Reuters that the government intends to “deploy federal and state law enforcement to locate, detain, and compel illegal immigrants,” while the FBI asserted that the department “defends the United States from numerous threats.”

McCabe stated that it is not “uncommon” for the FBI to reassign agents to form a task force focused on recent assaults against Tesla, as law enforcement is “confronting new challenges.”

“They muddle it with tasks like arrests and effectively attempt to mitigate this threat. It provides them with time to determine if they need to reallocate resources for such matters long term. However, whether this action is truly necessary is quite intriguing.”

“They shouldn’t need to,” McCabe stressed.

“With the FBI, there’s a national terrorism section and initiative specifically designed for this purpose,” McCabe noted. “We observed very similar efforts in the 1980s and ’90s, targeting environmental and animal extremists. A comparable vandalism response was effectively managed by the domestic terrorism program.”
