President Donald Trump's US Citizenship Office (USCIS) has suspended several green card applications, including refugees brought to the US by former President Joe Biden, making it a better screening and veterinary applicant.
“To better identify fraud, public safety or national security concerns, USCIS is imposing a temporary suspension on completing certain adjustments to the Status Application as additional screenings and reviews are pending completion,” an agency spokesman told Breitbart News.
This coincides with Presidential Executive Order 14161, protecting the United States from foreign terrorists and other national and public safety threats. Similarly, some migrants who secured asylum under the Biden administration have stopped the green card application process for the time being.
In late January, Trump signed an executive order to halt resettlement of all refugees into the United States after the Biden administration imported hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants who were given humanitarian parole.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and a federal judge in Seattle, Washington, sued to prevent Trump from halting hospitalizations for refugees, but the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals allows the administration to implement executive orders.
