Officials say former US lawyer Jessica Abel, who was found dead on Saturday morning at her Virginia home, appeared to succumb to natural causes.
“At this time, detectives have found no evidence to suggest that her death was caused by anything other than natural causes,” Alexandria police said in an update Tuesday evening.
The body of the 43-year-old lawyer who led the US lawyer for the office of the Eastern District of Virginia during the Biden administration was discovered by police around 9:20 a.m., leading to a wave of pathetic dol from former and current Department of Justice officials.
Previous family friend Told to NBC News Police believe she died of medical issues, and the two former Justice Department officials said they don't believe local law enforcement agencies have no foul play involved.
No official causes or methods of death have been announced so far.
“The investigation is ongoing and the case remains open until the Chief Inspector (OCME) office returns the final verdict on cause and how to die,” Alexandria police said in a statement Tuesday.
“We urge our people to respect the privacy of Mr. Aber's family during this loss.”
Aber, whose office was praised for indicting Russian citizens for CIA leaks and fraud in the US, resigned on January 20 when President Trump took over.
Police said further updates on how Aber died will come from the inspector.
