Dodgers White House visit: Team sets date to celebrate World Series with Trump

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Tuesday that they have set a date to celebrate the 2024 World Series title with President Donald Trump.

The Dodgers said they will have the team visit the White House on April 7th, when they are in town to play against the Washington Nationals. The team added that players will visit Capitol Hill the next day.

“In line with the long-standing baseball tradition, President Trump invited the 2024 world champion Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House when he played in Washington, D.C. on April 7th,” the team said. “The Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating the title.

“In addition, Dodgers members will be visiting Capitol Hill on April 8th.”

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called it a “great honor” of visiting the White House after suggesting that it wouldn't be a 2019 Los Angeles Times story.

“It wasn't the formal conversation we had as a ball club,” he explained. Via ESPN. “It's certainly a great honor to get an invitation to the White House. We can celebrate the 2024 championship. My understanding is that it's a great honor for all of us, as all World Series champions get that honor.”

Los Angeles is the newest team to celebrate their title victory at the White House. The Philadelphia Eagles and Ohio State Buckeyes football team have also committed to visiting Trump and the White House. The Florida Panthers celebrated their Stanley Cup victory last month.

Trump received a handful of visits from the sports team during his initial management. It came mostly when baseball and college champions rebutted with football and basketball players about issues of social justice and the decision of several players to kneel during the national anthem.

This time, it appears that players have changed the song about Trump. Several athletes came out in support of him during the 2024 presidential election cycle, but other athletes took it a step further to emulate his dance moves during games and battles.
