(Nexstar) – The final operation date for over 20 locations in Kohl is soon approaching.
The department store announced in January that it would close 27 defective stores by April.
“We always take these decisions very seriously,” said Tom Kingsbury, CEO of Cole. I said at that time. “As we continue to build on our long-term growth strategy, it is important to take the difficult but necessary actions to support the health and future of our customers and teams' business.”
The affected stores are scattered across 15 states.
Three Places – in Mountain View,California; StoughtonMassachusetts; and HerndonVirginia – Local media reports say it has already been closed.
Saturday, March 29th marks the last day of the other 24 call stores, according to the webpage's banner. These stores are as follows:
- Alabama: Fort Spain
- Arkansas: Little Rock West
- California: Balboa (San Diego), Enquinitas, Fremont, Napa, Pleasanton, Point West (Sacramento), San Rafael, San Luis Obispo, Westchester
- Colorado: Arapa Hocrosing (Aurora)
- Georgia: Duluth
- Idaho: Boise
- Illinois: Plainfield and Spring Hill (West Dundee)
- New Jersey: East Windsor
- Ohio: Blue Ash and Forest Park (Cincinnati)
- Oregon: Portland Gateway
- Pennsylvania: Pottstown
- Texas: North Dallas
- Utah: Riverton
- Virginia: Williamsburg
Kohl previously said it would provide opportunities to apply to employees who influence retirement packages or other open roles within the company.
The Wisconsin-based company has been drooping on recent sales. Last week, Kohl confirmed that multiple stores have suspended Amazon Return Services as part of a test that could prove financially beneficial to the company.
Kohl's has been challenging for several years as consumers, like other retailers, continues to seek online deals.
Macy's also announced in January that it would do so Over 60 stores will be closed As part of a strategy to shutter counter-effective locations while upgrading others until 2026. Recently, it confirmed it Closes almost 100 stores.
Several other retailers are closing this year. It includes Joan and Forever 21and will close all locations after filing for bankruptcy.
