Feds probe tip about timing of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine: report

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are investigating GSK's claim that Pfizer would delay the success of the 2020 Covid Shot from announcing the success of the Covid Shot until after that year's election. Reported by the Wall Street Journalcite people who are familiar with this issue.

The report said Philip Domitzer, former head of vaccine development at GSK, joined the company on Wednesday after working for rival Pfizer, but spoke about the delays to a colleague at GSK.

But Dormitzer has challenged the account.

“My Pfizer colleague and I did everything we could to get the FDA emergency use permit at our first possible moment. Other interpretations of my comments regarding the pace of vaccine development are incorrect,” he told Reuters in a statement.

According to a WSJ report, the US law firm in the Southern District of New York, including Manhattan, is looking into what GSK shares.

President Trump has previously argued that Pfizer has been sitting in positive data from vaccine clinical trials, but there has never been any evidence to support the charges.

The U.S. Lawyers in Manhattan interviewed at least two people, including a GSK executive who took notes about his conversation with Domitzer, citing one of those familiar with the issue, the report said.

Prosecutors plan to interview third parties in the coming days, the WSJ reported, citing some of those familiar with the probe.

The report said Pfizer officials were not interviewed.

GSK declined to comment, but Pfizer in Manhattan and the US law firm did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
