Tesla ‘Sentry Mode’ footage allegedly shows vandal ramming into vehicle

A Texas man was arrested for allegedly causing damage to multiple Teslas throughout the city of Texalcana.

Texalcana Police Station It was announced on Facebook Demarqeyun Cox, 33, was arrested for allegedly smashing a “mini-four-wheeled vehicle” into several Tesla vehicles. Police are working to see if reports of Teslas being damaged could be linked to Cox.

The suspect is currently being charged with one count of felony crime mischief and certain failures. He is currently bound by a $105,000 bond. Local NBC affiliate KETK-TV.

Sean Vaughn, a spokesman for the Texalcana Police Department, told Fox News Digital that officers have linked Cox to multiple instances of vandalism, but they continue to file one charge as authorities see it as “one detective episode.”

Attacks on Tesla vehicles have been rising in recent months amid rising protests over CEO Elon Musk's work with the Trump administration. Tesla vehicles and dealers have been destroyed and damaged in some states and even Canada.

The Trump administration has begun cracking down on destroyers, calling the rise in attacks “domestic terrorism.” So far, three suspects have been charged in connection with “the violent destruction of Tesla's property,” according to the Department of Justice. The defendant has committed a crime in prison for a minimum of five years but is facing charges that could reach up to 20 years.

“The days of committing crimes without consequences are over,” Attorney General Pam Bondy said in a statement. “Let's make this a warning. If you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla's property, the Department of Justice will put you behind the bar.”

When asked if he could see the Cox case being featured in the DOJ, Vaughn said, “If they want to pursue it, I'm sure the department will share information with them.”
