Ryan Wesley Rous, President Donald Trump's second-hop assassin, was charged with attempting to kill the president on a golf course in September, during the 2024 election season, and was charged with attempts to kill the president on a golf course, was charged with murder and terrorist attempts by Florida.
Florida Attorney General James Usmier I said Fox and friends On Thursday, his office finally secured a warrant and charged Routh with attempts at first-degree murder and terrorism after Stone stopped Florida's efforts to “pursuit justice.”
“We want a judicial system that is willing to pursue justice no matter what party is in charge,” Uthmeier said. “Joe Biden and the Democrats have done everything they can to limp and refuse to work with Florida.”
“Under Attorney General Bondi and the Trump Administration and our new FBI Director, it was a breath of fresh air. They were transparent and supportive,” the Florida Attorney General added.
Uthmeier also noted that the federal government will make evidence folders available in his office, and that more evidence about the case will soon be made public.
Facing federal accusations, Rouse faces state charges in Florida for attempted first-degree murder and terrorist attempts in a conspiracy to assassinate President Trump at West Palm Beach Golf Course on September 15, 2024.
After an obvious assassination attempt in September, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed an executive order reminding the public that, in most cases, attempted murder is a national crime.
If convicted, the aspiring assassin could be sentenced to life in prison.
“This was an attempt to assassinate,” Rous reportedly pleaded not guilty to accusations of attempted assassination of the president, which had already been brought against him by the Federal Jury.
The latest charges against Routh come just days after federal prosecutors revealed that the 59-year-old suspect had tried to acquire military-grade weapons, including rocket launchers, from someone he knew in Ukraine as part of the assassination plot.
Routh told his Ukrainian contact: “Send me an RPG.” [rocket-propelled grenade] Or Stinger, and we'll see what we can do.”[Trump] It's not good for Ukraine, according to court documents obtained by Fox News.
Prosecutors say that in the early hours of September 15, 2024, Rous established a sniper hideaway near Trump International Golf Club. There he was armed with an illegally acquired military-grade SKS rifle – and placed himself in the hopes of Trump playing golf.
But before President Trump enters into his view, Rous was discovered by Secret Service agents traveling one or two holes before Trump while he was playing golf to secure the area, and fired at that point, the suspect fled the scene, leaving his rifle behind, and the suspect followed.
On the same day, Rous was arrested and arrested with written escape plans, multiple burner phone calls, fake IDs and stolen license plates, authorities said.
In December, Rouse was found on another murder charge, which stemmed from an accident in which police nearly killed a young girl when traffic was closed after fleeing a bush near Trump International Golf Club, prosecutors said.
The Routh trial is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2025.
The September 15th incident was the second assassination attempt to survive within two months during the 2024 election campaign.
On July 13, Trump slightly survived an assassination attempt when Thomas Matthew Crooks, the first failed assassin suspect, was shot in the ear after he fired himself at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
That first assassination attempt was severely injured by the death of former fire chief Corey Comperator and two other rallies, David Dutch and James Copenharbor.
