Masters news: Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau fireworks to begin third round

I'm in quite a week at Augusta National Golf Club as the third round of the Masters had fireworks on a Saturday afternoon.

Rory McIlroy and Bryson Dechambeau started the day with 6 and 7 under respectively, but those numbers quickly changed thanks to the fantastic shots starting the round.

McIlroy headed out for a birdie start from the perfect first hole. But a louder roar came as Deccanbeau teeed off right behind him in a group with Saturday's leader Justin Rose.

Dechambeau's approach shot hit green, but landed on his back with a long birdie putt in front of him. On a downhill break, Deccanbo was likely trying to close it with a simple par to start the round, but the lines were just as perfect as his speed.

DeChambeau and a group of customers around the first green saw his ball trick the slope into finding the bottom of the cup and tying it with Rose at 8 under. Deccanbo put out a small fist pump, but he remained stoic in his attitude, knowing that 17 holes were ahead.

But McIlroy's second hole plunged the customers into frenzy when he took the lead thanks to soft hands around the second green.

As the tournament reaches a very weekend, Trump shares interest in supporting the Master

The absolute Monster Drive carried a proper fairway bunker to Hall 2, about 330 yards away, on par 5 585 yards. McIlroy set himself up for a potential eagle, but his approach got a little too deep, which required a chip on his third shot.

It was nice to see Tap-in Birdie bring the ball closer to make his start even better, but he saw the line and ran the chips perfectly.

The ball bouncing back twice before checking up and moving towards the hole. It was the perfect line to swing three and three underswings to start the third round.

The crowd got fierce as McIlroy took the only lead.

It's “Moving Day” in Augusta, and players are working hard to put themselves in order to win the first major of the year. Previous major winners McIlroy and DeChambeau have yet to gather their own green jackets and are now playing like potential champions.
