The only way to Mideast peace? Crush Iran’s terror regime

Iran’s top leader Ali Khamenei recently warned that “the pranks that the US does will certainly be hit hard by mutual forces.” It may be the most unintended absurd joke of the year and the most unintended absurd joke.

President Trump, who has long been warnings about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, did not write his words in response. “If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombings. A few days ago, the president warned that if Tehran refuses to negotiate a new nuclear deal, “bad, bad things will happen to Iran.”

Anyone with a fundamental understanding of military power knows that the Iranian regime can be hopelessly beaten in a direct conflict with the United States. A well-executed US strike could dismantle Iran’s nuclear facilities and cripple the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, its command and control network, air defense and naval forces.

The recent deployment of the US B-2 spirit stealth bomber to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean has not been merely a routine operation. It was a clear and unmistakable signal for Tehran: it tested America’s resolve, and the results are quick and overwhelming.

Target the snake’s head

Since October 7, 2023, the Middle East has been in chaos. This lesson is unmistakable. True peace and security in the region must stand up to the Iranian regime, the source of violence.

The Biden administration’s settlement policy gave Tehran some room for operation. It exploited Western concessions, strengthened nuclear programs, and expanded its impact across the region. Information from the Iranian National Resistance Council, the same group that first revealed Natanz and Arak’s hidden nuclear sites in 2002, reported in February that Tehran was actively developing ballistic missile nuclear warheads.

At the same time, the administration continues to export fear. Iranian weapons, trains and funds fund Houthis, which repeatedly attacked commercial transport in the Red Sea and disrupt trade.

President Trump pursued another path:
Maximum pressure. His administration has imposed crippling sanctions and eliminated exemptions that would help drive Iran’s oil exports to zero. Recently, Trump warned that if Iran refuses to negotiate, “I could put secondary tariffs on them, as I did four years ago.”

This kind of pressure works. However, economic strength alone is not enough. It must coincide with Iranian people and their steady support for the resistance movement.

Ready resistance

Internal objections remain the most viable path to ending Iran’s priesthood government. Since December 2017, Iran has witnessed at least four major uprisings. Most importantly, the 2022 rebellion was when protesters chanted “Down with the oppressors, whether they’re Shah or the Supreme Leader.”

That message would have been less clear: Iranians reject dictatorship in all forms. They want a secular and democratic republic.

The Resistance Unit, a national network of Iran’s people’s Mohahedin organizations, has implemented over 3,000 anti-regulation projects in the past year alone. These efforts continued despite mass arrests, torture and executions. The network is growing and not shrinking. It is the only organized force within Iran and can challenge the regime from within.

At the same time, Mariam Rajabi, presidential election for Iran’s National Council of Resistance, provided a free, clear plan for Iran. Her 10-point platform calls for secular governance, universal suffrage, gender equality, individual freedom, and a nuclear-free state. That vision has won public support from more than 4,000 lawmakers around the world. This includes majority in the US House and the UK House of Representatives.

Speaking before the February Congress, Rajabi made clear about the NCRI’s position. They don’t want foreign troops, weapons, or money. I want that
recognition The battle of resistance units to dismantle the rights of Iranian people to resist tyranny and the machines of resistance to dismantle the IRGC’s oppression.

What the West can do

Military options should remain on the table. But the most effective way to beat Iran’s regime is to cut off its economic lifeline and increase pressure on all sides.

Serious strategies should include:

  • It strangles the government’s economy. It blocks Iran’s oil and gas exports and starves terrorist proxies, missile programs and financing nuclear ambitions.
  • Activates the UN snapback mechanism. It will reimpose all previous UN Security Council resolutions and shut down the administration’s nuclear programmes entirely.
  • It places its administration under Chapter VII of the UN Charter. Its recurring threats and unstable activities are clearly recognized as threats to international peace and security.
  • Recognise the rights of Iranian people to resist. It publicly supports organized resistance movements and resistance units in the fight against the IRGC within Iran.

The action time is now

The Iranian regime is at its weakest point in decades. Its economy is collapsed, regional allies are facing a retreat, and internal disputes are growing. The international community has a unique opportunity to push the government to the brink. The Iranian New Year, which began on March 20th, could mark the beginning of historic changes in the Middle East.

Free Iran from Mullah is no longer a distant dream. It is within reach. But to make it a reality, the West must act decisively and stand with the Iranian people, not oppressors.
