NEW YORK (AP) — Actor Michel Tratchenberg passed away as a result of complications from diabetes, a New York City office said Wednesday.
In a statement, the office said it had corrected the cause and death of the 39-year-old New York City native following a review of clinical laboratory results.
Known for “Gossip Girl”, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, and “Harriet the Spy”, Trachtenberg unconsciously did not respond in a luxury Manhattan apartment in February.
Authorities at the time said there was no suspected foul play, and the inspector’s office cited her death as “undecided.”
Trachtenberg’s family opposed the autopsy, which the prosecutor’s office admired because there was no evidence of the crime.
Her representative did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Wednesday.
Sarah Michelle Geller, Taylor Momassen and Blake Lively were among the celebrities who mourned Trutchenberg when his death on February 26th was announced.
Trachtenberg was eight years old when he began playing Nona Mecklenberg on Nickelodeon’s “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” between 1994 and 1996.
In 2000, Trachtenberg joined the cast of “Buffy” and played Dawn Summers, the younger sister of the title character played by Salah Michel Geller between 2000 and 2003.
Trachtenberg continued his recurring roles in “Six Foot Under,” “Weed,” and “Gossip Girl,” playing Georgina Sparks, the gaudy nemesis of the gang. She was one of the stars of the original series who returned to the guest star pair in the 2021 “Gossip Girl” revival.
Trachtenberg’s subsequent credits included the 2004 teen sex comedy “Eurotrip” and 2009’s “17 Again” and Zac Efron and Leslie Mann.
