Bondi Announces DOJ Lawsuit Against Maine over Trans Sports Dispute

Attorney General Pam Bondy fired a new broadside against Maine on Tuesday in the Trump administration’s ongoing line.

Alongside women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines and Maine representative Laurel Libby, Bondy has announced that the Justice Department refused to refusal to comply with President Trump’s executive orders and interprets its ban on the inclusion of men in women’s sports.

Maine is firmly stuck with President Biden’s reinterpretation of Title IX.

“They shouldn’t read the same title ix as we’re reading,” Bondy said.

Complaint Maine has accused them of “openly and rebelliously disregarding federal anti-discrimination laws.”

“By prioritizing gender identity over biological realities, Maine’s policy exposes girl athletes to fair competition, deny equal opportunities for exercise, and increase the risk of physical injury and physiological harm,” the complaint states.

The Trump administration’s conflict with Maine began in the opening week of his presidency. During a meeting with the country’s governor in February, Trump asked Maine Governor Janet Mills (D). Mills replied that she would follow “state and federal law.”

Trump said, “Well, we’re federal law. You better do that, because if you don’t, you won’t get any federal funds at all.”

“See you in court,” replied Mills.

Not deterred, Trump welcomed the court battle.

“Like, I’ll see you in court,” Trump said. “I look forward to it. It should be really easy. And enjoy your life after the governor, as I don’t think you’re in elected politics.”
