PGA news: Golfer signs woman’s leg after hitting her with tee shot

Golf fans got a rather painful souvenir from RBC Heritage on Thursday.

The tournament was the first since Rory McIlroy won his first master and completed his career grand slam.

Despite Augusta’s mental and physical shattering, some of the biggest names in golf travelled to Harbortown Golf Link in South Carolina.

Billy Horschel was among them, but he found himself in a troublesome situation.

On the PAR-4 hole No. 10, Horschel flipped the tee shot too far to the right, bumping into a fan in his leg and bouncing back towards the fairway before settling down roughly.

He didn’t know that at the time, but Hoshel was informed as he brought it closer to the ball that it had hit the woman.

So he signed her legs and the two shared a hug.

It was just one of the tough shots of a day for Horschel. Horschel shot an even-numbered round, but tied with the other nine to 51st place.

RBC Heritage is the fifth signature event, so there is no cut line. So Horschel still has the opportunity to make up for some kind of ground.
