The United States will do whatever it takes to achieve peace in Ukraine as long as “one or both” are actually engaged in the process, but without any indication of progress, America can now “move ahead” within a few days.
Neither Ukraine nor Russia are properly involved in the peace process, Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested on Friday morning when he returned to the US and returned to the US, whether there would be a breakthrough in the peace process within days of the US liberation.
The US is willing to attend endless, unproductive meetings and meetings to hold meetings, Rubio told the press on Tarmac in barely critical criticism of both Moscow and Kiev. He states: “I’m coming here yesterday and starting to talk about a more specific overview of what’s needed to end the war and try to get it straight away, I’m talking about whether this is a war that can be ended, not just a few weeks.
“If possible, we are ready to do everything we can to promote it, to make sure it happens.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio (C) arrives at French Foreign Minister Quai D’Orsay before a bilateral meeting with his French counterparts held in Paris on April 17, 2025.
If there are no indications, both parties are actually willing to agree to a ceasefire. Previous bids to establish such a state have been met with further demands for concessions, conditions and sculpture.
Surprisingly, Rubio appeared to imply that neither Russia nor Ukraine seemed appropriately unattractive. He says that while the US is on the verge of leaving, it is not the case even if “one or both” makes progress. He said: “We’re trying to prevent it [bombings] But we are flying all over the world and we are not planning to hold meetings after meetings.
“If they’re serious about peace or both, we’ll help… if it’s just a meeting to hold another meeting, then we’ll figure out if it’s going to happen… If the meeting becomes productive, I’ll come to myself.”
His comments were harsh, but Rubio’s warnings made it clear that the US is moving away from counterproductive consultations. If one of them is to engage in genuinely sincerely afterwards, the US will return to mediation, he said.
Rubio said: “We can help you whenever we are ready to get peace with the margins, but we cannot continue this effort for weeks and months.
Nevertheless, it is not clear that the collapse of the short-term conflict will collapse, given that peace negotiations are sanctions against Russia, and the threat of peace talks and the threat of Ukrainian weapons supply and information and delivery suspension if Kiyif does not play the ball. Rubio warned both sides that there was “no military solution” to the conflict and that consultations were needed to save thousands of lives.
In contrast, Rubio, ordered by Britain, France, Germany and Italy, relatively praised the involvement of individual European countries, rather than the European Union trade bloc. Rubio said: [Europe] To continue to engage. I think they can help us. [Those nations] This can help move the ball and get closer to resolution. I think they were very kind and constructive with their ideas. ”
Rubio’s remarks came after a meeting between European leaders in Paris, the US and Ukraine on Thursday. European leaders were clearly buoyant about how they went than the American Rubios, with French officials calling them “excellent” and saying “Americans are ready to discuss security assurances.”
One of the major areas of friction between the US and Ukraine in recent months has been the collapse of the Rare Earths Mineral deal, a device created by the Trump administration to reconcile relationships from dependency to one of commercial interests. The original incarnation of a contract that allows the United States to reclaim the billions who donated to Kiev under its last presidency, exploded spectacularly when President Volodimia Zelensky came to Washington with new demands.
But there appears to be a positive move here, with Zelensky saying “good progress” was made in the mineral trade on Thursday. President Trump said he could sign a full deal as early as next week, and Ukraine said it had signed a brief contract with Washington on Friday morning.
