Ex-middle school teacher slapped with felony charges over accusations of shocking student sex scandal

A former middle school teacher in Texas faces felony charges after being accused of having inappropriate sexual relations with students.

Cara Hernandez, 31, from Missouri, Texas, was arrested and charged with indecent child contact and inappropriate relationships between educators and students. Her bond is set at $50,000.

Hernandez is reportedly married to four children.

Hernandez was a teacher at Ronald Thornton Middle School until he resigned from his education in September 2024.

“The district took action shortly after the allegations were revealed, and during the investigation the teacher resigned in September 2024 in place of fire,” the Fort Bend Independent School District said in a statement.

The indictment of the large ju court accused Hernandez of having sexual contact with a student who was registered with the school, according to court documents. KPRC-TV.

Court documents show that while Hernandez was working at a school in the Houston area, there was a relationship that allegedly occurred in April and October 2022.

Kriv-TV The Fort Bend Independent School District has obtained a letter sent to parents regarding a shocking allegation against a former Ronald Thornton Middle School teacher.

“Recently, allegations of past inappropriate conduct by staff at Thornton Middle School have been drawn to the district’s attention by former students,” the statement began.

“Fort Bend ISD immediately began an investigation, staff members were immediately removed from campus and took administrative leave until the results of the investigation were made. Staff will not return to FBISD,” the district said.

According to the school’s WebsiteHernandez was orchestra director and orchestra camp coordinator at Ronald Thornton Middle School.

Hernandez is reportedly married to four children.

“When she’s not teaching or practicing viola, she enjoys spending time outdoors and supporting the Houston Astros with her husband and four children,” Bio reads.

It is not stated whether the alleged incident occurred at the school, but records show that the victim was a student at Ronald Thornton Middle School.
