An analysis of fan comments featuring cursed words revealed which teams are likely to swear.
Sample comments were taken from SubredDits (a dedicated page on the social website Reddit) for each of the 30 MLB teams. Here you will find the most dedicated fans who want readers to discuss their team struggles and operations.
Outlet Vegasinsider has calculated that the number of these posts is sworn in, with over 1.2 million comments from its fanbase and a minimum of 15,000 comments per team. Each fandom was assigned a value based on the percentage of comments on the fan page that contained the word of the oath.
analysisAs concluded in April 2025, Auckland track and field was found to be the most foulmouth fan base with 6.51% of comments containing oaths. This corresponds to over 1,300 comments out of the 20,000 or more total notes, including curses.
But the devil may be in the details of these statistics. Athletics has planned to move the team to Auckland and Las Vegas since 2023, and has tentatively played home games in West Sacramento.

This could leave Cleveland Guardians (Ne Indians) fans as a true, most foulmouth fan base. They came in second with a prominent 6.06% sworn statement rating.
Cleveland was followed by fans at a rate of comments covered in cursed words of 5.91%.
The typical loud voice New York Yankees fan ranked 20th in the foulmouth team.
The Cincinnati Red has a 2.86% comment percentage featuring cursed words, the most obedient fan and the only team below the 3% marker.
Perhaps surprising, the Philadelphia Phillies were second-friendly with 3% comments. They may save all Heckling for real life scenarios.
Toronto Blue Jays fans ranked 24th at 3.34% on the stereotype of being a friendly Canadian, while the typical loud New York Yankees fans ranked 20th in the foulmouth team with 3.68%. New York Mets fans pledge 3.28%, half the rate of Yankees fans.
Ultimately, only two words represent the most popular vows on a particular team: “S**T” and “F**K.”
There was no rhyme or reason, but athletics fans just happened to choose the latter.
In total, 1,206,364 online comments revealed 50,034 vows.
