On appearing on NewsMax TV on Saturday, evangelist Franklin Graham shared his thoughts on the events that led to Christ’s crucifixion in Easter stories and its importance.
“When Jesus was crucified on Friday – he was on the cross, and he descended the cross from his head and back, and slammed his hands and feet nails, and at that moment God poured all his sins on his son,” Graham said. “Jesus Christ was sacrificed to God for the sin of mankind. And God had to turn away because he could not see sin. He could not see sin. And Jesus said, “My God, my God, why did you abandon me?” And at that moment, God had to turn away. ”
“Jesus took our sins, and he died on that cross, and he shed his blood, and he was buried in the tomb,” he continued. “So he came out on Sunday. He walked straight away from the tomb of that sin. He was alive, and he is alive today. And if we confess our sin and repent, turn from them, God does not need to forgive us. You do not need to say that many prayers. What God is offering, God forgives us.”
“And that’s what Easter is all about,” Graham added. “It’s about a new beginning. It’s about a new opportunity.”
