Jesus didn’t die for this: Paula White’s prosperity lie hijacks Holy Week

The apostle Peter describes a false teacher.

The Bible describes a false teacher in several ways, but one of the most consistent features of a false teacher is that his or her life is marked by greed.

In the Gospel of Prosperity, Christ is not the end, but simply the means of end. It is an accumulation of more and more wealth.

Pastor Paula White, head of the recently established White House faith office, is one of the leading supporters of faith theology known as the “Gospel of Prosperity.” The words of the faith movement are an unusual form of Christianity. It argues that as long as they have sufficient faith in the preacher’s ministry and have sufficient “seeds” (i.e. financial offerings), all Christians should enjoy economic prosperity and physical healing. Soaked enough “seeds” to reap the “harvest”.

Prosperity preachers misuse biblical texts to assure parishioners as “a hundred times return” to their offerings. For example, Mark 4:8 says, “And the other seeds fell into good soil, and as they grew and increased, they lay crops, producing 30, 60, 100 times.”

A small amount of logic makes it easier to laugh at interpretations of prosperity.

If you give them $100 and receive $10,000 in return, you will sow that $10,000 and receive $10,000,000. The species mentioned in Mark 4:8 is not even about money. The seed is God’s Word and brings a spiritual harvest to the hearts of those ready to receive it. But preachers of the Word of Faith never get in the way of the Bible in their favor.

Paula White is no stranger to such manipulative biblical twists.

In a video posted before her recent appointment, White told people to soothe $133 based on Psalm 91 and $133 based on Proverbs 1:33 and $91. She promises her followers that if she gives these specific dollar amounts to her ministry, she will receive the corresponding blessings mentioned there.

This is totally stupid. The division of chapters and the number of poems was not added to the Bible until the Middle Ages, facilitating the simple navigation of the Bible. The written text is inspired, but the division of chapters and the numbers in the poem are not. In addition to Paula White and countless other prosperous preachers using them to let their followers go, they have no spiritual significance at all.

You might think that the rise in Paula White’s profile from her appointment by President Donald Trump may make her more cautious about shamelessly exploiting people for money.

But one would be wrong.

In late March, White again sparked controversy as it appeared to promise his followers “Seven Blessings of Passover.”

These seven blessings are:

  1. The angel assigned to you.
  2. God will be your enemy.
  3. Economic prosperity.
  4. Healing from illness.
  5. Long lifespan.
  6. increase.
  7. A special year of blessings.

She proposed Sowing various amounts: Minimum $50, maximum $1,000.

White is never
Explicitly I said these seven blessings will be yours in exchange for money, which was certainly hinted. At one point, the narrator quotes Deuteronomy 16:16. “Do not appear before the Lord before him,” urges viewers to so soot “the best Passover offering.” The narrator then states, “Don’t miss your moments that will free the seven supernatural blessings and offer you to your life.” White says, “When you respect God in Passover, I believe that you will receive these seven supernatural blessings for you and your home.”

White posted something almost the same on April 13th despite having received significant backlash on social media for her video.
say In the video.

In other words, you “respect God” by giving Paula White money.

If you sow Paula White the seeds of finance, God will give you these seven blessings. Do you need money? Give Paula what you have. Do you need healing? Give Paula your money. Do you or your family (probably one of your own children) have serious physical conditions like cancer? Well, you need to sow
big The seeds for that. The bigger miracle you need, the bigger financial species that you soaked better.

Like a preacher of all faith and prosperity, Paula White tries to hide her greed. She said, “Now we’re not buying miracles. We’re not doing that ‘Jesus Junk’. “I say it. But her attempts are in vain. You can place lipstick on the pig, but it is clear to everyone that it is still a pig.

The Bible speaks a lot about how to care for the poor and widows. Prosperous preachers like Paula White exploit them and add sin to them, do so in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus reserved his most ferocious responsibilities for the false teacher who distorts the Bible and “devours the house of a widow” (Luke 20:46-45).

Paula White will mark the holy day of the most sacred Christians, Sunday, turning it into an opportunity for her to pack up her already inflated financial resources.

In the Gospel of Prosperity, Christ is not the end, but simply the means of end. It is an accumulation of more and more wealth.

Don’t get me wrong: there is nothing inherently wrong about being wealthy, and there is nothing inherently honorable about being poor. There is no problem with proper compensation for the pastor. This is actually the Bible (1 Timothy 5:17-18).

But it is completely wrong to twist the Bible and exploit the poor and sick people to fund a luxurious lifestyle. Paula White, you can’t, so when they tell people to give her money before they pay their light bills, it’s wrong Expect an electric company to heal your child.

Jesus did not come to this earth to end financial poverty. He clearly stated, “You are the poor people who will always be with you” (Matthew 26:11). Jesus didn’t even come to put an end to illness or illness. It will only be realized not here, but for the believers on the other side of heaven. Jesus came to this earth to end the sin and the wrath of God that it gives birth to.

God of the Son, uncreated, completely from the eternal past, God took on the human nature in Bethlehem. Jesus Christ was a man of two different qualities. He is truly a god and truly a man. As a man of God, Jesus gave His perfect life on the cross as a perfect sacrifice to fully satisfy the wrath of God who was struck by sin.

Jesus made us save from God’s perfect wrath, because we did not die on the cross so that we could live a perfect life (Romans 5:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:10). Then, on the third day he was raised physically from death, proving himself to be the man he said: the God of the flesh of man. The only way to remove God’s wrath is to change your perfect trust from sin from sin (i.e. repent), and place your perfect trust in what he once achieved with the Tree of Calvary, never repeated sacrifice (Hebrews 10:10, 12).

False teachers have been a problem in the church since their founding. In fact, of the 27 New Testament books, 26 of them directly warn of false doctrines and/or false teachers. Not only are false teachers marked by greed, but the Bible also describes them as “care for themselves only” (Jude 12).

Combined with greed and lack of care for others is actually a dangerous combination.
